At SilverOakCommons, we acknowledge that situations may evolve, leading us to commit to straightforward and understandable refund regulations. This document presents the scenarios in which refunds are provided for our yacht rental services.
It is important to review this document thoroughly prior to confirming a reservation. Your reservation with SilverOakCommons signifies your acceptance of these refund terms.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Full reimbursement minus service charges
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Service Fee: €50 for card payments
Requirements: Must be requested formally via electronic mail or telephone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half of the total cost of the charter
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Service Fee: €25 subtracted from refund sum
Criteria: A genuine reason is required; administrative fees apply
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: No refund options available
Exception: Consideration may be given in emergency scenarios
Alternate solution: A charter voucher might be offered based on managerial discretion
Stipulations: Emergency claims require documentary proof
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
The safety of our patrons is our utmost priority. Should the weather be deemed hazardous for sailing by our certified captain, we will afford you several flexible alternatives:
- Full Refund: Should rescheduling be infeasible, a complete refund will be issued
- Reschedule: Change your booking to an alternative available date with no extra charges
- Charter Credit: Obtain a voucher befitting the initial charter date, valid for one year
Weather Assessment Process
Our evaluation of weather includes:
- Reviewing wind velocities and directions
- Monitoring sea conditions and wave sizes
- Forecasting visibility and precipitation levels
- Heeding Coast Guard alerts and advisories
- A safety assessment by our professional captain
Timing for Decisions: Judgments on weather-induced cancellations are made no more than 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Medical Urgencies
We recognize that unforeseen medical events can arise. The following instances may be eligible for special review:
- Unanticipated illness or injury requiring hospital care
- Loss of an immediate family member
- Abrupt military assignments or recalls
- Summons for jury service or legal subpoenas
- Natural calamities impacting travel plans
Requirement for Documentation
Emergency refund inquiries necessitate the following evidentiary documentation:
- Medical affirmation or hospital records
- Obligatory death notice, if pertinent
- Official military directives
- Legal summons or jury notices
- Public declarations of emergencies or travel cautions
Procedure: Requests for emergency refunds are processed within a 3-5 business day period after the submission of the necessary proof.
Operational Cancellations
Mechanical Failures
In the event that the designated yacht is rendered inoperative and the issue cannot be resolved promptly:
- Alternative Yacht: A similar yacht will be sought
- Full Refund: Provided if a comparable yacht is unavailable
- Partial Refund: Appropriate if the alternative yacht differs in pricing
- Recompense: Additional compensatory measures may be offered to rectify the inconvenience
Crew Absence
In the rare event that a qualified crew is not available:
- An alternate crew will be arranged when feasible
- A full reimbursement if the charter cannot proceed
- Options to reschedule with no additional financial obligation
Refund Processing
Mode of Reimbursement
Reimbursements will be reverted to the original mode of payment used during the reservation:
- Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
- Cash or Check: 3-5 business days
Service Charges
Card Transaction Handling
€50 fee for cancellations requested at least 72 hours ahead
Bank Transfer Process Handling
€25 charge for all bank transfer refunds
International Transactions
Supplementary charges may be incurred for international transfers
Charter Credits
Conditions for Issuing Credits
Credits for future charters may be issued under specific conditions as an alternative to refunds:
- When cancellations are made with less than a day's notice
- For charters called off due to weather disruptions
- When passengers request to postpone their booking
- In case of operational difficulties
Credit Specifications
- Validity: Good for one year from the date it was issued
- Transferability: Credits are not transferable to others
- Value: Equates to the full price of the charter, exempt from handling fees
- Application: May be used towards any charter that's available
- Expiry: There's no extension past the 12-month period
Partial Service Refunds
Interruptions to Service
If your time aboard the yacht is cut short or disrupted due to our oversight, the following will apply:
- A refund amount proportional to the unused portion of the charter
- A credit equivalent in value to a future excursion
- Complimentary offerings or upgrades as amends
Interruptions Caused by Guests
If a charter has to end sooner than planned owing to the actions of a guest or a breach of safety measures:
- No reimbursement for the remainder of the booked time
- The full cost of the charter is still due
- Extra fees may be levied
Dispute Resolution
In case of disagreement over a refund assessment, you may:
- Ask for a reevaluation by our administrative team
- Supply supplementary evidence or documentation
- Seek assistance from consumer protection organizations
- Explore legal avenues as permitted by the law

Step 2: Provide Requisite Details
In your application, please ensure the inclusion of:
- Your reservation confirmation identifier
- The scheduled date and time for the charter
- The cancellation's rationale
- Any pertinent supportive documents
- Your choice of refund modality
Step 3: Review and Execution
We'll confirm receipt of your submission within a day. Your request will be evaluated in accordance with our policy, a decision will be furnished within two days, and any authorized refunds will be executed as per the specified timelines.
Note
- All appeals for reimbursements must be made in writing
- Refunds are processed in €, independent of the original currency used for payment
- Acquisition of travel insurance is highly advised
- Any changes to this policy will be communicated with a month's notice
- Refunds are subject to the governing taxes and financial regulations
